Sample Sale Report: United Nude
Stopped by the United Nude Sample Sale yesterday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised to discover that all styles are currently marked down to 60% off. Since it was held in the United Nude boutique I only expected to see a few select racks. The boutique, if you've never been, is so sleek that it looks more like a night club than a shoe store. Anyways with the lit up displays of merch and a team of ready and willing staffers to assist you shopping is positively delightful. Although the shoe display lighting pulses from funky colors to white light it's a bit distracting and hard to tell how some of the shoes look until the light switches to white light.
And for those ladies with small feet, they do have size 5 shoes available too! You simply point out what shoes you want to try on to staffers and they bring them to you. Regular shoe store experience with plenty of mirrors around to check out how the shoes look. Since photos were forbidden, I only managed to sneak one.
I spotted plenty of Block Pump Hi (60% off $285)and Fold Hi Horizons (60% off $185)
Plenty of colors of Lo Res Shoes (60% off $250), unfortunately no size 5s.
Lot's of other architectural styles that I can't find featured on the website either. So if you're in the market for a unique pair of shoes. It's definitely worth a look.

NY Sample Sale Report: Paige, Torn & Shoes Galore
Friday 10/23 Update: Today is the last day of the sale, and we got word that they will be slashing prices. All shoes will be an additional 50% off. There's not that much left but great prices. All denim will be $65 a pair or 2 for $100. Torn will be reduced further except for the fur.
Earlier tonight Erin and I stopped by 307 West 38th Street to preview a sample sale hosted by The Savvy. They were still in the process of setting up when we stopped in, but we can tell you that there will be plenty of inventory: 1,800 pairs of jeans, 500 pairs of shoes...

There were a handful of pieces that are currently selling at Intermix and Shopbop like the plaid tunic and one-shoulder body con dress. I saw lots of solids, fun prints and embellished tops and tunics, a few unitards and tank dresses, and a couple maxi dresses. Sizes varied per style, but there was a decent selection in every size. Size M and L seemed to be the most plentiful
Prices on jersey pieces ranged from $25 to $75 - lots of tanks and tees at $25. Most of our favorite pieces like the embellished tanks and plaid tunics were $50. There were also some fur vests and coats for $240+.

Ironically, most of the shoes I picked out were size 8 in the sea of size 7s. There were plenty of boxes in the back, so I may stop by again later this week.

Overall, it looks like it will be a great sale. Pricing is nice, especially on the denim and shoes (again size 7 & 8 only). The fitting "room" is a big space upstairs with 4+ large mirrors. With so much stock and affordable prices, I wouldn't be surprised if it gets crazy crowded, but even with a little sample sale mayhem, I think this one would be worth it.

Ash sample, size 8 ($75, grouped in with booties). It kills me that these weren't in my size.
Overall, it looks like it will be a great sale. Pricing is nice, especially on the denim and shoes (again size 7 & 8 only). The fitting "room" is a big space upstairs with 4+ large mirrors. With so much stock and affordable prices, I wouldn't be surprised if it gets crazy crowded, but even with a little sample sale mayhem, I think this one would be worth it.
