Deal of the Day: $165 Real Leather Jacket
This leather jacket from Torn by Ronny Kobo retails for $600, but you can pick it up for just $164.99 Williamsburg-based Peachfrog's eBay store. The studs clearly make the jacket a bit trendier, which could be a good or a bad thing depending on how you look at it. Either way, it's an undeniably good deal for a true leather jacket.

Deals on Gestuz & Torn by Ronny Kobo at Peach Frog
If you live in Williamsburg or find yourself there over the weekend, you might want to pop into Peachfrog. It's a discount retailer and the shopping experience is similar to a TJ Maxx, where the inventory is definitely hit or miss and you have to be able to see things out of context. Sometimes I joke about how it's where designer goods go to die, but it's a nice business that I want to support. The owners are very friendly, and I've spotted some pretty great deals there.
I stopped in a couple days ago, and while a bit limited, there was a pretty impressive selection from Gestuz.
I was super bummed I couldn't fit the leather-denim paneled jacket. It was so awesome and only $125, a steal for such a unique designer piece! Other highlights included edgy black coats and dressy pants. Most prices ranged from about $50 to $150.
Again, as with most discount stores the selection at Peachfrog is very hit or miss (sometimes with more misses), but if you're in the neighborhood, it might be worth checking out. If you stop by, you might want to check out the $30 vintage-military-inspired bags and backpacks. And I'm not a fan, but there were also some deeply discounted L.A.M.B. heels.

NY Sample Sale Report: Paige, Torn & Shoes Galore
Friday 10/23 Update: Today is the last day of the sale, and we got word that they will be slashing prices. All shoes will be an additional 50% off. There's not that much left but great prices. All denim will be $65 a pair or 2 for $100. Torn will be reduced further except for the fur.
Earlier tonight Erin and I stopped by 307 West 38th Street to preview a sample sale hosted by The Savvy. They were still in the process of setting up when we stopped in, but we can tell you that there will be plenty of inventory: 1,800 pairs of jeans, 500 pairs of shoes...

All pairs were priced at $75. Sizes range from 24 through 32 in various cuts and colors. Lots of inventory in every size, especially size 27.

There were a handful of pieces that are currently selling at Intermix and Shopbop like the plaid tunic and one-shoulder body con dress. I saw lots of solids, fun prints and embellished tops and tunics, a few unitards and tank dresses, and a couple maxi dresses. Sizes varied per style, but there was a decent selection in every size. Size M and L seemed to be the most plentiful
Prices on jersey pieces ranged from $25 to $75 - lots of tanks and tees at $25. Most of our favorite pieces like the embellished tanks and plaid tunics were $50. There were also some fur vests and coats for $240+.

90s floral peplum dress & gray one shoulder dress ($70). If I bought the floral dress, I would probably take the hem up a bit.

Size 7 and 8, you're in luck! I'm a size 7 and usually shoe samples are size 6 or 6.5, so I kind of freaked out when I saw the table of samples. Ironically, most of the shoes I picked out were size 8 in the sea of size 7s. There were plenty of boxes in the back, so I may stop by again later this week.
Shoe prices were as follows: boots $75, pumps $50 and flats $35.

Overall, it looks like it will be a great sale. Pricing is nice, especially on the denim and shoes (again size 7 & 8 only). The fitting "room" is a big space upstairs with 4+ large mirrors. With so much stock and affordable prices, I wouldn't be surprised if it gets crazy crowded, but even with a little sample sale mayhem, I think this one would be worth it.
