Sample Sale Report: Delman, Nina and RUUM American

Today I stopped by the beautiful well lit showrooms of Delman, Nina and RUUM American kids. The show rooms located on Park Avenue South were spacious and not very busy but there were some great bargains to be had. The advertisement had noted that there would be size 7 and 6.5 but I didn't know to what extent, until I actually got there. While there wasn't a tonne of stock, what they had available was really fabulous items at a great price. There was an entire room full of Nina shoes that were all size 6.5! I didn't spend much time in there but there were plenty of fanciful fun shoes. As for Delman, if you are a size 7, there was a room with a wall full of Delman's for just $30 a pop! AMAZING!!! From pumps to ballet flats to pointy flats to dresses that will take you to a wedding. There was a plethora of great options.

As for kids shoes they were mostly either a size 13 or size 3M (which felt like a 5 or 6 woman!) for just $10 a pair!

I lucked out and found a couple of shoes in the kids section thanks to my incredibly small feet! Just be aware that since these are sample shoes, some have drill marks in the sole.

As for kidswear it was pretty adorable and nothing was priced more than $10 for coats or dresses while everything else was $5! Check out some of these cute things for both boys and girls that were just $5, great if you have kids or for a gift for someone with kids.

If you are a size 6.5 or 7 shoe, run and don't delay for some amazing finds. If you are looking for some great kidswear at a great price, you'll find it here too. Most of the kids clothing seemed to be 5 yr, 8 yr or 10 yr. Although there were a few pieces for 4 yrs.

Sample Sale Report: Coclico

The Coclico sample sale in Noho is in a small but well lit showroom. They have plenty of buttery soft leather shoes ranging from size 35 to 41, but if you are a size 35 there are only about 3 pairs of shoes left. A staffer said that when someone with small feet find their size, they tend to buy multiple pairs. From personal experience, this is 100% true.  The shoes are displayed on the shelves and their are boxes with various sizes below each shoe section. Prices start at $100 and a bright colored sticker on the box gives you insight into the price.

For most part it seems like sandals are priced in the lower price categories, booties at $150 to $200 and tall boots for $230. The sale is cash only, so make sure you have some if you're planning on buying.

Sample Sale Report: Rachel Comey

At the Rachel Comey sale, I found myself amongst the gleeful shoppers, scouring the sample shoes for a good deal. 98% of the sale is for women, but 2% of the sale consists of a few mens shoes which are priced to go at $50 a pop. Most of these shoes were casual lace up oxfords or variations of such and they ranged from sizes 8 1/2 to 11. There aren't very many left, so if you hope to snag a pair, you should hurry.

There was a small selection of swimwear priced at $50 for a separates and $150 for one pieces.

As for stock of womenswear, there were several racks full of pretty clothing from the recent Spring 2014 collection.  Sweet eyelet skirts were $316, shorts hovered around $160 and a denim rack that ranged in price from $50 to $350.

Stock shoes were plentiful and in all sizes in neatly organized row upon row. They were priced at 50% off and I saw some for as low as $150 for short black simple ankle booties but most hovered around $170 to $250. For the real deals in clothing and shoes make sure that you check out the merchandise from previous seasons. Everything here is up to 80% or more accurately $100 a piece or $250 for 3.

The same rules apply for shoes and. Each additional item whether it be clothing or shoes above 3 is $75. Signs clearly state that you can mix and match your selections of clothing with shoes.

With the older merchandise, it is less organized, shoes are paired together an placed on the floor in taped off sections by size range. Sizes 6-6.5 and sizes 10-10.5 had the largest selections since they are sample sizes. Be warned though, some of the sizes which are true samples are not marked at all with any branding or shoe size, so you have to try them on to figure out if the shoe fits. There were so many cute shoes and boots that I had a tough time deciding what to get as did most shoppers. There was a group of women working together over a big pile of shoes so I had to be patient while they made their decisions but I ultimately found some awesome finds!

Shopping For Clean Water at the Hatch Showroom Sample Sale

I stopped the Hatch Showroom sample sale earlier this afternoon. Since their sample sale information said very little about pricing, I wasn't sure what to expect, especially since they had a string of well known designers listed. Typically such showroom sample sales tend to be overpriced. The draw for me though was the fact that 100% off the profits are going towards a great charity, Waves for Water. Hatch Showroom even had a little display set up that showed off what they were planning to do by sending 300 water filters to Nicaragua. Each filter costs $50 but can provide clean water to 100 people for 5 years! Can you imagine the impact?

After shopping the sale I soon realized that not only was the charity good, the product and prices are also good! Note though that the sizes tended to skew on the small side, but I saw sizes 0 to 8, with jeans in 23-26. Almost everything at the sale is a one off, so shop early for best selection. Although there is no fitting room, there is a large mirror set up at the very back that is surrounded by racks so you feel like you have some semblance of privacy.

On the tray above, you could snag jewelry from Kelly Wearstler for $40-50 and bangles from Giles and Brother for $20! There were cute pouchettes with suede handles for $12, Soludos shoes for $10 and scarves for $5!

Some of the fun items I saw were a sequin jacket for $40, a Mason dress for $60, a VPL dress for $70 (there was also a damaged one for $30).

I saw plenty of Intermix product and James Perse. This stunning sequin tank was $30, James Perse long sleeve tees were $25, while this jersey dress was $50.

For men, there were 4 pairs of Adidas shoes going for $30 a pop. I think they were all size 9. I found a pair of leather Rag & Bone pants in metallic gold for $80 but it was missing a button, and I am guessing it is a size 25.

There was a small rack marked designer at the sale that had a Thakoon dress for $100, an Erdem top for $70, Vena Cava dresses for $65. I also spotted an Erin Fetherson dress and Theyskens Theory pants. There was also a small table of accesories nearby with CFDA award winning Albertus Swanepoel hats for $20-40.

This Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent lace dress was $60 while the pleather mixed skirt was $35. Towards the back of the sale there were quite a few pairs of Rag & Bone jeans for $40-50 a pop and some J Brand and other jeans.

At the very back of the sale, don't skip this part for some truly spectacular deals. This area called vintage yielded me a $20 Gryphon trench coat and $20 McQ nylon cargo pants. I saw some $15 Marni pants in white, but they are probably a size 24 waist. There were also a pair of Superfine jeans and plenty of Daryl K pants.
