Preview: Carlos Falchi for Target
Remember back in May when we said that Carlos Falchi would be the next handbag designer for Target? Well here's a first look at the collection. The collection of 13 pieces will include faux snakeskin in jewel tones with contrast shades that will create a collage/patchwork effect. The collection will hit Target stores and be on Target.com on November 1, 2009. The prices range from $19.99 to $49.99.
I'm really not quite sure how it will translate to reality and feel like it's one I'd like to see before I buy. My friend commented maybe it's one of those collections that are just so ugly it'll be really great! What do you think of this collection?

Sample Sale Report: Carlos Falchi
So I was uber excited when I heard that Carlos Falchi was having a sample sale with prices that started at a mere $30! Unfortunately the $30 did not equate to a handbag of my dreams. Guess I was a bit too ambitious? But in this economy you never know!
I guess I should have known when I got there at lunch time and it was still really empty that there wouldn't be true bargains. One of the first items I picked up off the table was $1370 so right away I knew that the potential to buy was slim to none.
Yes, there was some $30 items, but they were mostly leather zip cosmetic cases. Not really the sort of thing a girl really needs. Another bargain? The box clutches with jeweled clasps at $75.

On the plus side? There was plenty of merch to choose from and it was neatly organized. You can spot 2 very full boxes of various merch at $100 a pop.
While it's possible to find things for under $100 the vast majority that caught my eye was still over $1100! If you are a Falchi fan with some extra cash, go...but if you are just looking for a bargain, maybe not the best sale for you.

Next Target Bag Designer: Carlos Falchi

Target has done it again and nabbed the Brazilian-born American designer Carlos Falchi to be the next designer for it's affordable handbag collaboration. This announcement comes on the heels of recent collabs by Felix Rey, Hayden-Harnett, Anya Hindmarch, Devi Kroell and Botkier to name a few.
Falchi has been designing bags for over 3 decades and has won the prestigious Coty Award for accesories design in 1983 as well as been nomnimated twice for CFDA's Accessory Designer of the Year Award. Falchi’s signature look of vivid color combinations and unusual patterns and textures is achieved by unique leather treatments and a passionate involvement with the distinctive design of each skin.
Falchi’s designs will hit Target's nationwide and target.com on October 11th, 2009. WWD reports "the 13-item line will consist of faux snakeskin handbags in jewel tones such as plum and teal with contrasting shades of brown, black and gray. Some handbags will utilize collage or patchwork techniques."
