NYC Dumpling Festival

I really hope I can make it because dumplings are seriously one of my fave foods in the world! I miss the ones my mom makes with chives we grow in the backyard but this will have to do for now!

Who: NYC Dumpling Festival presented by Chef One

What: Taste dumplings from around the world with offerings such as gnocchi (Italy), tamale (Mexico), palitaw (Philippines), kuih koci (Malaysia), idli (India), bao (China), and pierogi (Poland). Cookbook signings with Chefs Wai Hon Chu, co-author of The Dumpling: A Seasonal Guide and Jaden Hair, author of The Steamy Kitchen Cookbook: 101 Asian Recipes Simple Enough for Tonight's Dinner. And go on an East Village Dumpling Tour and Dumpling Class by Wai Hon Chu.

Good Evening Lower East Siders: My Gossip Girl B-day

Last week I celebrated my birthday and being that it was my 3rd in NYC I wanted to make it special. As you all can pretty much tell, I love any excuse to dress up! I watched the Korean movie My Sassy Girl a few years ago that gave me the inspiration for my party. I've always wanted to dress up like a school girl and go dancing. So to modernize and Americanize the concept I went with a Gossip Girl theme.

After much searching, I had my birthday at Le Lupanar in the LES. The venue had plenty of seating, easy door policy, room to dance and a very luxe, chill vibe. What can I say? I'm a sucker for those black chandeliers! The manager, Kieter, is a complete darling! He even concocted a special drink menu inspired by the characters of Gossip Girl just for my party and extended Happy Hour! My fave by far was definitely the Chuck Bass-tard...seriously addictive and dangerous, maybe a bit too much like Chuck ;)

Topshop Van in LES now!

I finally caught up to the Topshop Heartschallenger Van on my way home tonight. If you're by Stanton & Ludlow, the Topshop van was on the corner parked as of 30 minutes ago!

They are headed to Bowery Ballroom at 11pm if you're in the area. The final destination will be Ella Lounge (on Ave A b/n 1st & 2nd Ave) at midnight tonight!

The printed tote contained a catalogue, wish list post card, water bottle, entry form for a competition to win a trip to England and a 500 pound shopping spree. While I talked the the girls they handed me a Lucky Giftcard. The only catch? It's a hidden amount that you can't discover unless you head to Topshop for their grand opening tomorrow and make a purchase of at least $10. The giftcards value will reset to $0 after tomorrow's over. With Kate Moss set to cut the ribbon and musical guests like Santigold, I'm anticipating pure madness! Doors open at 11am. Bring a friend, or not!
