Kamali Kulture by Norma Kamali

Recently I had the chance to meet with Norma Kamali to discuss her Kamali Kulture collection, blogging and self confidence. I was a little nervous meeting someone who is a bit of a design legend.  Add to that the fact that I admire her style and own a few pieces that from her past collaborations with Everlast and Walmart and my nerves are floating around my stomach. While sitting in her Wellness Cafe and sipping on some delicious fresh pressed green juice,  Ms Kamali enters the room and grabs a Chia Seed snack. She introduces herself and quickly explains that travelling between 3 time zones has her starving as she gently takes a few bites.

Almost like an old friend she talks about her filming experience on VH1 and how amazing the women were who personalized and styled pieces wearing them in totally new and chic ways. She shares how she was most impressed by a young lady who took a top and turned it into pants by putting her legs through the sleeves and letting it create a unique drop crotch effect.  As she chats with me I quietly notice that somehow age hasn't affected her virtually lineless face and super shiny head of hair.

Amazon Goes The Gilty Route and Canada Get Another Online Retailer

Earlier this week marked the launch of Amazon.com's flash sale site - Myhabit.com. So far, for menswear, the site has featured Bedstu, Rogue and Zero + Maria Cornejo just to name a few. You can log on with your Amazon account to browse the daily sales.

For all the Canadian readers out there, another shopping site also opened this week - Dealuxe. The site houses mid-level contemporary brands including Rebecca Minkoff, Foley & Corinna, Dolce Vita and Velvet just to name a few. Since this is a Canadian site, things like duties and unexpected brokerage fees are non-existent which is a definite plus. The site also offers editorials, weekly flash sales and promotions.

Deal of the Day: Romeo & Juliet Couture Blazer

If you've been wanting to give the blazer trend a try, but have been too afraid to commit, you may want to check this out. It's a gray blazer from juniors line Romeo & Juliet Couture and only $15 at amazon.com - even cheaper than blazers from Forever21, which sell for $30+.

I haven't seen this piece in real life and it's mostly polyester, so no quality or fit guarantees. But like I said, if you don't already have one and want to experiment, this piece could be fun with the sleeves rolled up. Blazers look great over just about everything. They're a great way to dress up jeans and a t-shirt, and they're fantastic for adding a masculine edge to a girly dress.

Get $3 in Free MP3s on Amazon

Have you ever ordered MP3s on Amazon? You need to download their MP3 downloader program but the files are compatible with iTunes and other MP3 playing devices. It's pretty easy as when you click Buy-It-Now it leads you through a step by step guide and links you to the downloader program.

Perhaps because it's Thanksgiving weekend and they want people to check it out perhaps in time to buy the multitude of $5 CD's they are offering on Cyber Monday? You can pick whatever music you like. And with tracks ranging from $0.99 to 1.29, it's 2 or 3 free songs! Choose wisely :)

Click Here for your free MP3s.
PS. offer expires at midnight tomorrow so hurry!

Would You Wear Jeggings? A Round Up of Options

Is it just me or are Jeggings everywhere lately? The first time I heard the term, I dismissed it as fashion editorial nonsense but looks like they are here to stay.

If you are asking what are Jeggings?
Jeans + Leggings = Jeggings. Essentially super fitted jeans that might as well be leggings.

Skinny jeans are good! Leggings are good when worn correctly. The marraige of the 2? I'm a little torn. I mean we've already established that leggings are not pants does adding a few pockets make it ok? I'm thinking it'll really have to depend on the material! If it's super stretchy denim, perhaps it's okay, but if it's a thin jersey, we don't want to see that camel toe, so be sure to cover up with a tunic, mini or summer dress.

Jeggings are pretty affordable and here's a quick roundup of what I saw available...not necessarily advisable!

Target's Xhilaration Jeggings for only $9.99, they are sold out online but perhaps they can still be found in stores? Don't really love this version as I feel like people might falsely try to wear them as pants!

Surprisingly Amazon.co.uk had a version of acid wash for only $16 that look fairly substantial.

Topshop Jeggings in Grey Denim Look $40. These look pretty bland and you almost can't tell they are jeans! I think these should be worn like leggings and definitely not pants.

ASOS by far had the best variety at the best prices. I think these might be safely worn as pants because they look slightly more substantial. They range in price from approximately $17 for the metallic versions on sale up to $48 for the cute floral print version.

Finally the creme de la creme of jeggings brought to you by the lovely designer/stylists of Current Elliott for $218 via Shopbop.com
