Stopped by the Kimberly Taylor sample sale after work and it turns out that I just missed the after work crowd so I was the only shopper at the sale with the opportunity to explore racks at my leisure. While the sample sale is on a slightly smaller scale than some others, there are definitely plenty of gems to be had especially if you are a smaller size. I spied a lot of 0's and 2's and XS & S sizes. There is a small fitting area with a door set up inside an office with 2 mirrors to offer you privacy while changing. While most of the staff had already gone home for the day, the staffer that I had the chance to meet was just lovely and super informative.
Spring merchandise that is currently still in stores are slashed to 50% off retail. So that means that you can snag a sexy Sasha dress for somewhere in the neighborhood of $125! The dress with it's strategic contrast waist panels is uber flattering and creates an hourglass effect while making your waist look tiny. If you are a sample size you are in luck because you can score a Sasha dress for as low as $75.
Samples are priced at $75 for dresses and $50 for tops and bottoms. I also tried on a beautiful tie waist tunic in a rainbow stripe print that was a limited edition print in collaboration with fine art photographer Irene Mamiye that was both pretty and flattering. If it didn't totally look like Lani I probably would have scooped it up for myself at $75 (I think original retail was $300!). I also was a fan of the body con chiffon skirts in bold colors and the pleated fluttery soft satin shorts.
PS There are also $20 sample bins but I didn't have a chance to really dig through them.
What: 50% off all Spring merchandise. Sale merchandise includes cocktail and day dresses, versatile silk tops and easy summer shorts. Dresses originally retailing for $185 - $295 are now $90 - $150. Silk Tops originally $195 are $95. Shorts originally $195 are $50. All samples are marked down to $75 (dresses) and $50 (tops, bottoms).
When: June 7-8, 2011. Tues-Wed 10am-7pm
Where: 110 West 40th St (b/n 6th Ave and Broadway), Suite 705.

Ahhhh, why are all the good sample sales in New York?!
I was there in the mist of the "after work crowd" but even in their tiny work space it was still better then some of the sample sales that i have been too i.e. Rebecca Minkoff. I got myself a pair of silver short shorts and the green button down tank top. Was it the blond girl with the blazer who was still there? Because she's the one that rung me up and she was super sweet and was giving me some styling advice on the green tank top. I hope you ended up getting something for yourself!! Thanks again for posting about the sale otherwise I would have never known!!
