NY Sample Sale Report: Inhabit

I checked out the Inhabit Sample Sale over lunch and discovered that they moved buildings just down the street to 1410 Broadway – Suite 302.
The sale was moderately busy with fans of Inhabit’s high quality knits flocking to the boxes of cellophane packaged garments and racks of other various knit samples. Photo charts on the wall helped decipher what styles each box contains.
There is no true fitting room although there was a room dedicated to shoppers to change, there is no door or no curtain so it’s not for the shy. Prepare yourself by wearing a Tank Top and leggings – the sample sale uniform. Staffers were friendly enough although they seemed busy as they were working through the lunch rush. I didn’t notice any gentleman shoppers. While sizes run from Petite to Large for women’s I was told by a fellow shopper that there were as many Mediums left, although staffers assured that there was an even distribution across the size ranges. For Men’s clothing sizes run from Medium to XXL. High quality cashmere and alpaca where just buttery soft in my hand while sheer airy knits looked like they would make great transitional pieces into Spring. Some interesting wrap cardigan vests really caught my eye but they are still pretty simple.
Tanks are $30
Cotton $50
Cotton Cashmere $50
Linen $50
Linen Blend $50
Cashmere $60
Colors tended to be on the softer side of neutrals and of course plenty of black, charcoal and brown.
Recommended if you’re not looking for super trendy clothes but luxe knit staples that are timeless.
