Now Wearing...

Before the holiday break, I went to my company's holiday party at Willis Tower, formerly known at the Sears Tower. I was excited to step foot in one of the world's tallest buildings and celebrate with my coworkers.

I dressed for the occasion with an Aqua dress I picked up from Buffalo Exchange a few months ago. I generally don't like satin dresses because the shine can add a few pounds, but I was attracted to the shape and use of hot pink and cobalt blue. And in the spirit of being festive, I wore a big red bow from Forever 21 and my biggest (and favorite) cocktail ring from Sorrelli.

Because I suffer from extreme klutziness, I sprained my ankle the day before the holiday party, slipping on wet floors on the walk to work. It all worked out though. If it hadn't been for the sprained ankle, I probably would have worn pumps and not realized how much I love my new Dieppa Restrepo oxfords. I picked these up earlier this month at sample sale hosted by a handful of Brooklyn designers. This patent pair is not as comfortable as the other pairs by Dieppa Restrepo, but compared to heels, they're wonderful.

Now Wearing...

Christmas
I celebrated back home in California with my family and friends from high school. My friends and I do an annual Secret Santa gift exchange, so in the spirit of gifts, I decided to dress myself with a giant red bow. I really love the way red looks with white, so I pulled out my favorite sweater.

White shaggy sweater - vintage
Skinny jeans - Uniqlo
Brown oxfords - Bass

New Year's
Making New Year's Eve plans in the city can be kind of tough because there are high expectations and so many options! In the end (and kind of at the last minute), I joined my friends in throwing a house party in Lower East Side.

I originally planned to wear crazy 80s dress, but I somehow managed to sprain my knee and decided heels required for the dress were a no-go. So I started my outfit with flat boots, then decided on shorts and worked my way up to a sequins top to be festive for the holiday.

Black lace-up boots - Justin boots
Black shorts - Alexander McQueen McQ for Target
Sequins top - borrowed from a friend
Yeah, I'm a huge dork. Just me, dancing alone before the party started. But you know why I'm awesome? Because I welcomed the new year with bling and Hello Kitty press-on nails.

Porcupine ring - nOir
Leather cuff - Botkier Bailey

New Year's Eve was pretty great. I DJed with Morsy and Lily Vanilli, and I got to celebrate with some of my favorite people from NY, DC and LA. 2011, let's do this!

Merry Christmas!

Dear Readers,
Wishing you a warm, safe and happy holiday season. Hope that you are enjoying time with the people that are important to you and not getting too sucked into the stress and commercialism that has become what this season is known for. Enjoy time, enjoy the moments and enjoy the people that make life special! We are all on vacation until January so our posts may be a bit more sporadic while we spend time with our loved ones in LA and Toronto. Thanks for making the past few years interesting and great and we'll see you more regularly in the New Year!

xo,
Erin, Lani & Jeff

Go: Kate Spade Igloo

If you haven’t seen it already, the Kate Spade igloo in Bryant Park is not only an adorable little place to visit and warm up before or after skating (there is free hot cocoa), it’s sort of a gift shopping paradise.  Filled with great little accessory items that are full of whimsy and sure to delight even the ficklest lady on your shopping list.

From sparkly rings & earrings to polka dot thermos and make-up cases to plaid bags and metal link clutches it’s a world of Kate Spade waiting to happen.

The Igloo is only open now through Thursday December 16, 2010 so hurry before it closes.  Hours are 10am-10pm daily.

Seriously watching all the ice skaters lap around the rink and seeing the lit Christmas tree in the distance while I was in Bryant Park took me on a nostalgic trip of imaginary romance.
