NY Sample Sale Report: Velita

Velita in Soho is having their first ever sample sale this weekend. The sale started earlier this week and runs through Sunday.
I had heard about the line a couple times from friends, so I decided to stop by yesterday after work.
All pieces were deeply discounted. One blouse that usually retails for $235 was only $39. Prices started at $39 and most pieces were under $100.

I think this would be a great sale to stop by if you're looking for clothes to wear from day to night. Many of the pieces are well tailored and office-appropriate, and they could be easily dressed up with the right accessories. The clothes are all made in Italy, and the fabrics are incredible quality. I saw a lot of silk, cotton-silk, and cotton-wool blends.
The sample sale was a very pleasant experience. Velita's creative director Elena was there when I stopped in. She and the associates in the shop were all super friendly. I overheard a couple girls in the fitting room joking about coming back to the shop on a regular basis just to get style advice.
These were a couple of my favorite pieces. This gray drapey top would look chic with some skinny dress pants, and this deep maroon dress would look great with some statement jewelry.

There was plenty of stock in a variety of sizes, so I would recommend this sale if you're looking for clothes you could wear to work and out for drinks afterwards. Fans of Banana Republic or Ann Taylor looking for something new would definitely enjoy this sale.
