Amanda Blank is Philly's hottest female rapper. She's been collaborating with Santogold, Diplo, M.I.A. and Ghostface Killah just to name a few. She's writes pop songs, though her lyrics are far from bubble gum. Her lyrics are overtly sensual and fearless.

The first time I heard Amanda was on Spank Rock's "Bump" from their album YoYoYoYoYo. I was hooked to her unique vocals and amazed by how clever and unapologetic her lines were. Track 6, I still remember; I had that ish on loop.

I'm really excited because Amanda Blank's debut album I Love You is scheduled to come out this July on Downtown Records. And she's going to be at Le Poisson Rouge this Friday, June 5th. Tickets are $10 advance, $12 at the door.

"Gifted" by new hot duo N.A.S.A. featuring superstars Kanye West, Santogold, and Lykke Li. I got a preview download of this track months ago, and I still love this song. I'm a little tired of it, but it's one of those songs I can't seem to get enough of.

It's fun to finally see the music video because when I first heard this song, I imagined outer space and playing dress up with a futuristic avant-garde black dress and silver pumps.

Mad Decent Tour

Mad Decent Tour kicks off tonight in New York! Mad Decent is Diplo's record label. For those of you who don't know Diplo, he's one of my top three favorite DJs. Diplo is known for mixing in Brazilian funk and reggae. He's produced tracks for M.I.A. and Santogold and released a ton of amazing remixes.

The tour's headliner is Diplo himself and opening for him is one of my favorite up and coming DJs, Boy 8-Bit. All of his tracks make me want to dance. His music is a bit crazier than Diplo's, very electro and bass heavy. Even with few to no vocals, the songs are incredibly catchy. Get a taste of Mad Decent by streaming tracks here and here.
