There are quite a few sample sales worth checking out this week! Last time around I found some fantastic gifts at the Joy Gryson sale from her IIIbeca line when I dropped by on the last day. I am also intrigued by the Jonathan Simkhai sample sale and of course super anxious to know if the Roger Vivier sale will behold some lovely size 5 shoes for my feet. Runway Review: Jonathan Simkhai
Jonathan Simkhai has been on my radar ever since I first laid eyes on his collection at Milk Studios a couple seasons back. For Fall 2014, the designer was inspired by "old school" leather cigar boxes seen through a futuristic lens. The designer has a way of making the ordinary interesting.
Classic American menswear details and fabrics are combined with clean geometric lines to create a modern day warrior woman. She is ready for anything and most importantly dead sexy. There is something tribal about the results, a woman in need of nothing from anybody.

NYFW Fall 2013: Jonathan Simkhai

After catching a show at Milk Studios on the weekend, I made my way up to the 8th floor to catch some presentations - one of which was Jonathan Simkhai. A little hipster, a little sporty, a little androgynous, a little downtown - but all cool is the best way for me to describe his collection. As one of the members of the CFDA's fashion incubator program, Simkhai definitely didn't disappoint!
