The sale is on "Production/Sample" merch and as far as I could tell seems to be mostly merch from Fall 2008 and some from Spring 2008. I did see this crystallized Fan Pleat Dress that I was in love with last season in persimmon marked for $300.
There are about 2 racks of adorable childrens clothing at the entrance that seemed virtually untouched. Saw some navy blue rompers for $50.
Next came belts that were placed on a table in a bit of a tangle for $50 each. I don't think there were more than 20 and they were in a variety of colors. Beside the belts was a metal rack full of purses in a multitude of colors. They were mostly small sizes and clutches marked for $125-150.
The next section was Men's merch and there was about 4 or 5 racks of wool coats, sweaters and some strange looking gold tone leather jacket that ran for $350.
For women's merch there was by far the most stuff. Probably 10 racks or so laden with goodies, that would have probably tempted me if I didn't already go over my budget this month. The cheapest item I saw was a tank top with embroidered soutache and rhinestones for $50. Dresses were mostly $200-300, but reaching $400 for a long evening gown. I only saw about 15 or so evening gowns on a lonely far rack. 2 tables were laden with soft fine gauge cashmere and merino wool sweaters for $125-200. There was a cute bubble hem skirt that you can see pictured below in a marblelized print for $125.
Definitely worth checking out if you're a Lim lover, I'd recommend you go early as they had already set up a "wait in line" section outside the doors. Many a satisfied shopper came out with multiple brown paper bags. Prices are about 50% off retail. But I've seen Lim for similar prices and slightly less on Barneys.com but not the same selection of merch as at the sample sale. It's cheap for Lim, but not cheap.
