Lani and I had a Rich & Skinny moment on the weekend when we stepped out to Le Poisson Rouge in NYC both wearing Rich & Skinny jeans! I have to say that I love how comfortable they are! Thanks to the unique satin waistband and pockets along with marrow edge seams there is virtually no discomfort from abrasion/rubbing. Picture from the Bryant Park tents last week. I originally wanted to wear something more feminine for Fashion Week, but with temperatures cooling down, I wanted to squeeze in my vintage jacket a few more times.

I tend to wear the jacket with non-blue jeans just because I feel like the navy would make it too matchy-matchy. Plus, I'm kind of obsessed with colored jeans and distressed denim.

Hope that you had a Happy 4th of July! We spent it on the rooftop of a friend's plae in Williamsburg and got to take in the 1500 fireworks per minute in the backdrop of NYC's skyline! It was pretty incredible, you can even make out the tip of the Empire State Building. Do we look patriotic?

I wore this outfit to a dinner party over the weekend, where this sweater was a total hit! It's one of my latest vintage finds, and I couldn't be more in love with it! I've been looking for a textured sweater for what feels like ages, but probably a year and half in reality. Anyhow, this sweater is such a dream. It's exactly what I've been searching for - warm, voluminous and shaggy.
It wasn't completely intentional, but when I was putting together this outfit for a dinner party over the weekend, Rodarte's fall 2008 show came to mind. They're obviously different looks, but I think I felt inspired by Rodarte's use of yarn and color patterns.
And lastly, a note about the accessories. I could have gone without any jewelry because there was enough happening with the sweater, but I wanted to balance out the black on bottom so I added the black Bonjour necklace and bangle. Then to break up the giant block of white on top, I added a long silver necklace which I knotted on the bottom to make it the right length.

I was out in Maryland this weekend for a little time away from the city. I was rural town, but we drove out to the big mall to see Toy Story 3 Saturday night. Nothing says suburbia like a man-made lake and paddle boats.
My sister bought me these Cynthia Vincent for Target wedges for my birthday! It really was the sweetest gift ever. They sold out pretty much instantly online and were nowhere to be found at the Brooklyn Target. My sister scoured multiple Targets in southern California to track these down for me. I love them so much! Love, love, love!
The funk pattern and bright colors are so perfect for summer, and they fit perfectly. They're incredible comfortable and light weight. My only complaint is that they're not going to last past these season. As with many cheap mass produced shoes, the quality is rather poor (velcro closures and thin rubber soles), and at the rate I'm going they're going to be completely soiled and destroyed by September. Oh well, I'm so happy to have them even if just for a few months!

I went to a mixer after work today, and a handful of people told me I looked like Michael Jackson. The thought definitely crossed my mind this morning when I decided to go with white socks. I was just surprised by the number of comments.
