UGG Collection Fall 2012 Preview

Ever since I went to my to the Spring 2012 Ugg event back in March I've been changing my mind about what I think of as an UGG shoe. They have come a long way from the sheepskin boots that have become the ubiquitous city girl winter uniform that I have long associated with the college girl set.  UGGs are now more practical and stylish than ever.  I think that the new UGG that I'm coming to know could fit a multitude of lifestyles and ages.2012-07-12 19.20.28
This time around the Fall preview was held at the Glasshouses right by the Highline for a sunset bathed party that not only offered kicking cocktails and bacon popcorn but also sweet music to my ears with a live mini concert by none other than The Drums.  Party goers had the chance to hang out on the rooftop with sweeping skyline views while perusing footwear and models posed perched up on platforms throughout the space.

For women, there were plenty of feminine clog shoe options.  Particularly darling are the bow tied versions above.  I am not sure how I feel about the backless clog shoes as in my personal experience they never can seem to stay on my feet.

The collection also featured a few really practical shoes with rubber wellies with laces and a shearling lace up boot that has rubber around the base of the foot to prevent unsightly salt stains.  For those less slushy days there were some fun high heel construction booties with colorful insert that I was a huge fan of as well as some playful knee length fur covered boots as well as some fur trimmed luxe gloves.

For men my favorite pair without a doubt were the lace-up oxfords in pop and neutral colors with contrast laces and sporty colored rubber soles.  They are a subtle but fun way to inject a whole lot of casual cool style into any man's wardrobe.

While I don't own a pair of UGGs quite yet, there were definitely a more than just a few pairs that I had my eye on.

If you fall asleep down by the water...baby I'll carry you...all the way home.

But yeah, I didn't like any of the boots. Well, maybe the ones that kind of looked like riding boots if you could remove those ugly pads.
