Sample Sale Report: Theory

Despite the sweltering heat - I decided against good judgment to make my way over to Chelsea after work yesterday to check out the Theory sample sale (men's only). If you work in an office setting, Theory makes great work staples that can carry you from the office to happy hour.

I got there around 6pm and it wasn't too busy. No bag/coat check and a changing area in the back allow for a convenient no fuss shopping experience. Truth be told I was still so hot from the trek over from 8th Ave so I didn't feel like trying anything on.

The sale is incredibly neat and organized. Everything is set up by size which is nice and by type (e.g. pants, shirts, suits, etc.) so it's easy to navigate through. The aisles are spacious and there's plenty of room to move around without feeling rushed which is nice.

Prices were decent - suits are $299, sportcoats are $199, pants are $89, sport shirts are $79, ties are $39, outerwear is $149 and lots of dress shirts for $49 a pop.

Sizing runs across the spectrum and there was plenty of merchandise available which is nice. Suits and blazers were mostly dark with the occasional cream color (but mostly black, gray and navy).

There were a few knitted pieces - of which I liked this grey zip up with blue side panels. There were plenty in stock and priced at $69.

Dress shirts are organized by size on two tables in the center of the room. If it wasn't so damn hot I would have took a closer look and tried to grab some stuff for work.

Overall if you're a fan of Theory and looking for some solid work basics you might want to check out this sale.
