Kamali Kulture by Norma Kamali

Recently I had the chance to meet with Norma Kamali to discuss her Kamali Kulture collection, blogging and self confidence. I was a little nervous meeting someone who is a bit of a design legend.  Add to that the fact that I admire her style and own a few pieces that from her past collaborations with Everlast and Walmart and my nerves are floating around my stomach. While sitting in her Wellness Cafe and sipping on some delicious fresh pressed green juice,  Ms Kamali enters the room and grabs a Chia Seed snack. She introduces herself and quickly explains that travelling between 3 time zones has her starving as she gently takes a few bites.

Almost like an old friend she talks about her filming experience on VH1 and how amazing the women were who personalized and styled pieces wearing them in totally new and chic ways. She shares how she was most impressed by a young lady who took a top and turned it into pants by putting her legs through the sleeves and letting it create a unique drop crotch effect.  As she chats with me I quietly notice that somehow age hasn't affected her virtually lineless face and super shiny head of hair.

Two years ago, if you told me I'd be shopping for clothes from Walmart, I would have called you crazy. But I suppose a lot can change within two years. Walmart has stepped it up design wise by hiring the likes of Norma Kamali and Max Azria to create diffusion lines for the masses. As for this find, I my friend Nicole to thank for. One day I saw that she had a super cute biker sweatshirt on and when I asked her where she got it, To the Max for Walmart was the surprising answer.

Anyways I think it's great because it's the kind of piece that you can feel totally comfortable in without looking like you're totally bummed out. Maybe you can even get away with wearing it to the office :) I ordered one in charcoal but it also comes in black. The material is fairly soft and my friend has advised that it's held up well after several washings. At just $20 can you really say no?

Norma Kamali for Walmart All-In-One Top Review

How Can I Wear Thee? Let me count the ways! Given my limited wardrobe space, I always get excited by product that can rock some extra milage! I almost forgot all about the Norma Kamali for Walmart Collab, but my roommate reminded me and I logged on! The Walmart website is not particularly user friendly and they did not do a great job promoting how wonderfully versatile this piece is! It would be perfect for travelling as it doesn't really wrinkle and can look drastically different.

The top itself is very comfy and looks really baggy if you don't push up the sleeves. It's a poly blend jersey that feels soft, cool to the touch and stretchy. It's long enough to wear with most cuts of pants and roomy through the stomach area :)

The price was right at $20 so I thought I'd try it out, also shipping on Walmart is only 97 cents per item and it came super fast in only 2 days! However the down side is it came with absolutely no instructions for different ways to wear it. Fortunately I took some time to play with it and came up with these variations and thought I'd share :) Perhaps there are more looks, but this is what I came up with so far!
