Shopping Round Up: Statement Sandals

Yesterday I posted about my sandals on Facebook and Twitter because my team at work stopped a meeting to discuss my funky footwear - go big or go home, I say!

Since then a lot of people have been asking me where they can find them. They're by Issa Karmara, a small Korean label with no stocklist that I'm aware of. I bought them two summers ago from Pixie Market, so unfortunately they're not longer available. But turn that frown upside down because I've done a little shopping round up for you.

Matt Bernson "Delphine", sale $141.46 (retail $209)

Jeffrey Campbell "Jaguar", $142

Jeffrey Campbell "Bad Alice", $135

Senso "Sahara Kid", sale $79.20 (retail $198)
Also available in black

Sam Edelman "Ginger", sale $80-90 (retail $100)
And if you're open to bright colors, I'm also loving them in Flamingo Suede!

Payless x Silvia Tcherassi Collaboration

payless-silvia-tcherassi

Payless is going international with it’s next collaboration after a series of successful collaborations with American designers like Christian Siriano, Lela Rose, Isabel Toledo and Abaete.  They’ve chosen Columbian fashion designer Silvia Tcherassi to create a line of handbags and footwear over the next 2 years that will begin hitting Payless stores in May 2011.

The collection will be priced affordably from between $40-70.   The designer tells WWD that “…the spring-summer season this includes many important silhouettes like wedges, flats, strappy heels and thong sandals with key trend details like bright colorblocking, unique mesh uppers and satin ribbon details and ties.”

Tcherassi’s collection also marks an important moment for Payless stores across Latin America as this will be the first designer collaboration to be available outside the USA.

The first look that we have of the shoe is a sexy strappy number with a  killer heel and distinctive platform in 2 color combinations.  This particular pair will set you back about $70.  I personally am a fan of both colorways and can’t wait to see them more of the collection.  What do you think?

Trends: Gladiator Mandals

Kris Van Assche Spring 2010, Neil Barrett Spring 2010, Givenchy Spring 2010
Have you noticed that often times trends from women's wear will somehow evolve and end up in menswear a couple seasons later? Well lo and behold the Gladiator Mandal has hit multiple shows this Spring 2010. While some are lace up, others feature strappy buckles. All are flat bootie shaped, coming just above the ankle and in black leather to add some edge.

I don't often see men wearing sandals aside from Birks or athletic sandals. These are a much more refined look. Would you wear Gladiator Mandals?
