Now Wearing...
So the challenge given to me was to create an outfit inspired by the newest member of the HTC family, the Droid Incredible 4G LTE for a chance to win one of my very own. Since I felt up to the challenge this is my best Droid Incredible inspired look.
Recently, I have had the opportunity to test each of the Incredible models and I loved the sleek new re-design. For my outfit, I am showing off my personal style evolution with a great new haircut that I received at the Paul LaBrecque Salon during the HTC Incredible Launch Event a few weeks ago.
I had always wanted an undercut since I saw them back in the 90s and the obsession only grew with my girl crush on the fearless Kate Lanphear. I finally took the plunge in a baby step getting part of one side of my head shaved for an edgy but still feminine new look. While my hairstylist Mia was a little reluctant at first to shave part of my head I convinced her I was ready for a change. She ended up being awesome and everyone who's seen my new haircut loves it. I'm so glad I went for a leap - thanks to the staff at Paul LaBrecque and the folks at HTC for helping make my hair dreams happen.
So how does one dress inspired by a phone? I decided that tone on tone textural elements with a flash of red was exactly the way to go. My Alexander Wang top and Nine West booties have a great modern shape and cutout elements that remind me of the sleek style curves on the back of the phone. My Asos sunburst pleat skirt brought to mind the ridged texture of the rubberized back surface. I also thought it's the kind of airy skirt that moves quickly, perhaps not quite the blazing speeds of the 4G LTE network but there is movement nonetheless. A pop of red lipstick and layered tank top are reminiscent of the bold flashes of red that encircle the phone's lens, in the Beats Audio speaker and the power button. I tried to mimic the matte/shine effects of the gunmetal shine of the phone's frame with a patent leather cutout belt and gunmetal jewels. Last but not least I added some clear shine that mirrors the flash of the 8 megapixel camera that turns on instantly using a large round rhinestone hair clip, trusty Mimi Gaia Rings and clear crystal bracelet. Did I mention that the new camera can also simultaneously snap video and photos? Amazing! Or should I say incredible?
While I'm still testing out the phone and learning all about the features, I'm loving the blazing speeds that match the fashionable design! It's a phone that will help keep my at times chaotic life in order.
