A few weeks ago I went to a clothing preview where I had the chance to be introduced to the collection Meghan LA by Meghan Fabulous, the LA based designer who discovered her passion for design at an early age. After finding her way to NYC and attending F.I.T, Meghan followed up with an apprenticeship at the CDFA, which enabled her to have mentorship, & work with noted fashion designers Calvin Klein, Bill Blass, Todd Oldham & Versace. The designer is already a fave amongst celebrities like Kristen Bell, Mena Suvari, Bai Ling, Kimora Lee Simmons, Ke$ha and more.
I was attracted to the Boho glam 70s feel of the collection especially with the gold and silver sequin, the whimsical sleeves the bell sleeves and all the lace/satin in gold, ivory and black. Maybe it was the colors or maybe it was the Mongolian lamb or the soft and feminine design details that are given a slight rock-&-roll edge but I couldn’t help but think Kate Hudson in Almost Famous.
I also loved how detail heavy every piece is without being over the top. Metallic applique lace looks so right on a graphic little babydoll cami, Candy color beads add flair to a simple little black tank and even distressed holey tank tops are given new life with the addition of colored stitching and beads.
Meghan Los Angeles can be found in boutiques & department stores worldwide including Henri Bendel, Nordstroms, Neiman Marcus, Kitson, Intermix, Bughatti/Dubai & Beymen/Egypt & Istanbul. You can also buy Meghan LA online at MeghanShop.com.
