Last night I celebrated 4th of July with friends in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. We started out the night on the giant rooftop to watch the Macy's fireworks. Then some folks in the neighborhood put on a mini show of their own and launched glowing paper lanterns into the sky. It was pretty great.

After hanging out on the roof, we headed downstairs for a hot sweaty dance party. It's been a long time since I've done a house party. I DJed for an hour and my friend Justin and his band, the Diving Sequence, performed. They have a couple tracks up their MySpace, which would be worth checking out if you like chill electro like Aphex Twin and Boards of Canada.
