Ben Minkoff Launch: The Full Collection

Earlier this week, Erin and I had a chance to stop by the launch of Rebecca Minkoff's new men's line entitled Ben Minkoff (named after her grandfather who was a fighter pilot in WWII). Overall, the pieces combine vintage elements, great hardware detailing and most importantly - functionality.
I can't speak for everyone - but I always carry a bag with me. It's convenient, practical, prevents me from losing things and keeps my pockets empty. If you want to avoid creasing your wallet, getting lint trapped in your cell phone screen or looking like you're sporting saddle bags - invest in a bag....it's totally worth it.
In general there aren't too many of options for men's bags, so I'm definitely glad another one is joining the party!

The Line:
Justin Tote ($295-$395), Greggor Tote ($405-$495)
Danny iPad Sling ($365-$485), Foster Tote ($275-$285)
Foster Tote ($275-$285), Urz Computer Bag ($385-$475)
Sunny Days Tote ($315)
iPad Cases, Toiletry bags, wallets and card cases

The Big Little Bag:
Danny iPad Sling in black waxwear ($365)
(also available in grey lamb leather for $485)

Don't let the size of this bag deceive you - it opens up to reveal a ton of practical space for you to store pens, wallet, passport, cards, etc. and has plenty of zippered compartments so things don't get lost when you're on the run. This would definitely be a great piece for traveling due to it's small size and multiple compartments.
And of course you can house your iPad or whatever else you like in the main compartment.

Erin's Pick:
Greggor Tote in black leather ($495)
(also available checker waxwear for $405)

This is a great piece. The bag is not too big but has plenty of room for everything you need including your wallet, cellphone, pens, ipod and laptop (separate removable padded compartment). There is also a zippered compartment in the center of the bag which is definitely useful for keeping things organized.

*Erin's note: Although this is a line that is geared towards a male audience, I anticipate that this line will soon become a unisex line with women wanting to get in on the action*

My Pick:
Nicky Messenger in brown leather ($525)
(also available in black leather for $525 and green waxwear for $395)

This is a great all purpose bag with one main compartment and several smaller compartments on the inside, two on the sides of the bag and one in the front for easy access to small items. There's also one slit pouch in the back, which would be perfect for storing newspapers or magazines.

The Finer Points:
An up-close look at some of the hardware used on the majority of the pieces.
Great details like zippers and screw-like rivets echoed throughout the collection.

I've been coveting Rebecca Minkoff's Morning After Bag for years. I love how both Ben and Rebecca Minkoff lines marry fashion and function so well. And the saddle bag look on guys is so unattractive.

Saddle bags are not a good look for men! These options look great!

Awesome post! I want the iPad bag and an iPad to go IN it.

Aside: Saddlebags remind me of Longlac... ;)
