Inside was no less crowded - but there were was a DJ spinning music in the background and drinks to be enjoyed.
There were a few different stations where models were set up. Each station housed one designer that represented a different aesthetic from a different part of the globe. Each designer was paired up with different accessory lines to create each of the looks showcased on display.
Overall - the presentation was different from any I've ever attended, so it took a bit of time for me to adjust to the concept. Normally a designer's collection/inspiration are the focal point of a show or presentation. However, for this presentation the inspiration came from W Hotel's newest global destinations (as opposed to a theme or an element of design). You know what they say....location, location, location! Mexico and Taiwan were among the countries representing at W's presentation.
The pieces above represented Taiwan (Twinkle by Wenlan) - my personal favorite was the magenta cutout dress which was stellar and had an amazingly chic silhouette
This was a great intro into fashion week - it was lighthearted, easygoing and casual. Stay tuned for more NYFW coverage headed your way in the upcoming days ahead!
