SAG 2010 Best Dressed: Winners & Losers

I'm not one for awards ceremonies normally but it's a great excuse to hang out and weigh in all the fashion's that be. This time around the ever lovely Jordana from Clutch 22 invited a group of super sweet and fun ladies to join in the fun at the Roger Smith Hotel's penthouse.

My personal style winners for the night have got to be Kate Hudson and Anna Paquin. Kate Hudson in Pucci and Cartier, looks every bit as a starlet should, radiant, classy but also very sexy with the combination of the high neckline and plunging back. This dress really suprised me that it was Pucci because it was absent of the signature prints that I've come to associate with the brand. Anna Paquin chose to wear Alexander McQueen and we all agreed that she looked fabulous! The dress totally flattered her body and I thought the shoes she chose were just the right balance.
I also thought that Christina Applegate and Kyra Sedgewick both looked great! Although their outfits are nothing groundbreaking, they look beautiful and classic with great hair and makeup.
Christina Applegate is in Roberto Cavalli and Lorraine Schwartz ta Ferretti and Kwiat. Kyra Sedgwick wore Vera Wang and Fred Leighton.

Looks I'm torn on? I love these ladies, so I wish they picked better dresses. Sandra Bullock in Alexander McQueen and Bochic looks tall and statuesque, but something is not right in the proportions. Perhaps it's the sleeves + strong shoulders or the length, but this was her night and she could have looked much more beautiful. Drew Barrymore in Monique Lhullier and Neil Lane is and example of when I become unsure whether she is wearing the dress or the dress is wearing her. The quirky cut was interesting but I fear it overwhelms Drew's frame and her bouffant hairdo is not really helping the matter.

Joan Allen in Michael Kors and Lost Art jewelry, looks lost in a seaweed tangle that I suppose is her attempt at statement jewelry. Meanwhile, Diane Kruger in Jason Wu and Harry Winston usually gets it right, but I don't think this mustard color did anything for her skintone.

Carey Mulligan in Lanvin and Fred Leighton looks a bit unfortunate as she is an adorable and charming actress but completely overwhelmed in this ill fitting gown. Especially when she walked the taffeta would balloon into looking like a red paper bag attacked her. Cheryl Hines in Gustavo Cadile and Raju Rasiah of Beverly Hills jewelry attempt at asymmetric looked a bit sloppy and like the dress did not want to stay on her body.

Finally, the worst look of the night? Surprisingly came from a man with a successful fashion brand! Justin Timberlake in Dolce and Gabanna simply was trying too hard to be unique. His denim shirt with the Tuxedo just doesn't make sense and leaves him looking like he lost his way from the farm.
