The Story of Stuff

If you haven't seen it before, sometime this weekend set aside 20 minutes to watch The Story of Stuff. It will change the way you think - well, hopefully.

The Story of Stuff is enlightening, informative, and entertaining. Annie Leonard does a great job of walking audiences through production processes and the costs of our consumption habits, not only financial but also environmental and social costs.

Fact, most of us shop and consume more than we need to without even realizing it. Just look at your closet. How many things have you worn just once? How many pairs of shoes are collecting dust? You probably think to yourself, "What a waste of money," but it's more than that. It's a waste of natural resources and energy, and let's not forget about the pollution and trash that is created.

On that note, in upcoming Sugar Rock Catwalk episodes, we're going to teach you how to shop and wear vintage, as well as how to maximize pieces that you already have in your wardrobe. Recycle, REDUCE and REUSE.
