Sample Sale Report: Brian Atwood, Miguelina

Disappointment at the Brian Atwood Sale as the shoes were pretty much out of my budget! They started at $150 and went up from their in increments of $50, reaching a peak at $350. Unfortunately the majority of the shoes at the sale did feature the $250-350 range! I think red was $150, orange $350 and yellow, blue and green the other amounts in between.
On the plus side they had a large assortment of shoes ranging in sizes 35 to size 41. For size 35 there were only about 5 pairs of shoes left, 2 pairs being patent platform leopard and the other three linen look jewel encrusted Sandals. The majority of the shoe sizes were between 36 and 39 although 37 and 38 were in slightly shorter supply.

On the down side, prices were only indicated by color coded stickers for which there was no signage posted for easy reference. I could only figure out prices by speaking to a worker who prattled them off in a super quick fashion. Also, although some shoes in various sizes were laid out on the table, the vast majority was boxed on the wall and the styles mixed up so you can only tell what is in them by opening each box! Tedious and annoying but I only had 5 boxes to look through and none of them were the super fab styles of my hearts desire.

Miguelina was a relatively small selection 5 racks full of various merch from silk dresses, linen tunic tops to satin shorts and linen pants. Seemed like mostly floaty summery pieces. Prices seemed pretty fair for most of the merch albeit not dirt cheap. An embroidered linen tunic is $45, a linen and metallic dress is $128, Silk Dresses from past seasons $65-95. I saw a clip jacquard dress I thought was cute for $85. Silk blouses and cami's $45-55. Silk Skirt for $55. The one item that did not sit well with me was a pair of adorable silk shorts because they were one of the most expensive items I saw at $115!

This sale is now over, but I'm just letting you all know how it was for future reference as I notice pricing sale to sale is pretty similar. As I was leaving I noticed staff boxing up shoes and I thought I overheard "Gilt Groupe"? Guess that's where this stuff is headed but I'm sure for a much steeper price!
